Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about uploading, scanning, pricing, and security.
What file types can I upload?
CargoScan accepts CSV and JSON files. For CSV, a header row is recommended. We also provide downloadable templates for Type 11, Type 01, and PAPS in the scanner.
How does the scanner find issues?
Our rule engine normalizes common column aliases and runs validation checks for missing fields, value mismatches, restricted commodity hints (e.g., lithium, nicotine), entry type logic (Type 11 vs Type 01), PAPS requirements, duplicates, and more. You can view or extend rules in
app/api/analyze/route.ts
.Do you support international corridors?
Yes. We include presets for Canada–US highway, Mexico–US highway, and China Air/Ocean. These determine which checks and suggested fields are emphasized.
Is my data secure?
Authentication and data storage are handled by Supabase with RLS. We never share your data, and you can request deletion at any time. See our Security page and download the security brief.
How is pricing structured?
Plans are based on monthly row limits with options for Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. You can upgrade/downgrade anytime via the billing portal. Details are on the Pricing page.
Can I use CargoScan for PAPS truck shipments?
Yes. When you choose Truck • PAPS, we surface checks like SCAC, Shipment Control Number, Trip, and optional Tractor/Trailer fields.
Do you require HS/HTS codes?
For entry readiness (Type 11/01), a 10-digit HTS is required for accurate duty/fee estimates and clean filings. The scanner will flag missing or ambiguous HTS and call out vague descriptions.
Can I export my results?
Yes. You can download flagged issues as CSV or JSON from the results page to share with operations or your broker.
